Accu-Sort Systems will demonstrate the AccuLazr AL5010 laser barcode scanner at the Modex 2012, Monday through Wednesday, at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta.
In addition, the Accu-Sort barcode automation solutions will be discussed during seminars at Modex 2012. Demonstrations will take place at Booth No. 2312.
The AL5010 features an adjustable raster and doesn’t need an accessory that bolts on, and the raster is adjustable (plus or minus 20 degrees) as needed, according to a company press release. Adjustments can be made by the AccuLazr user interface, which is browser-based and can be accessed via iPhone (News - Alert), iPad or a laptop computer and a Wi-Fi connection – which is a first for the industry, according to TMCnet. Through the laser barcode scanner, warehouse operations can be remotely monitored via a smartphone or tablet PC. No cable connections to the scanner are needed, TMCnet adds.
AccuLazr AL5010 can be used at a distribution center or plant. Applications include scanning, seeing hard-to-read barcodes, or verifying codes of poor quality, the company said in the press release.
For 40 years, Accu-Sort Systems has deployed, scanned, tracked and sorted solutions in parcel, postal, and retail sectors. Accu-Sort also helps customers handle materials and distribution operations. It provides solutions for baggage handling at airports, beverages, entertainment, auto, and meat/poultry sectors, the company says on its website. Accu-Sort is part of Datalogic Automation.
In a related matter, material handling, supply chain and logistics will be showcased at Modex 2012, according to a trade show statement. There will be some 500 exhibits, three keynote speeches, 75 seminars and 32 collocated education partner events during Modex 2012. Among the keynote speakers is H. Donald Ratliff, executive director, Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute, who will speak 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday about “How Supply Chain & Logistics Performance Impacts Trade.”
